Location and History:

Pura Dalem Puri Peliatan is located in Peliatan Village, Ubud District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. This pura is a Hindu temple that is classified as a Kahyangan Jagat temple, which means it has a spiritual function to maintain the balance of the universe. Pura Dalem Puri Peliatan is believed to have been founded in the 14th century by the King of Peliatan, I Gusti Agung Ngurah.

Architecture and Uniqueness:

Pura Dalem Puri Peliatan has a distinctive traditional Balinese architecture. The pura complex is divided into three main parts:

  • Jaba Pura (Outer Courtyard): Here you can find the bale kulkul (bell tower) and bale gong (gamelan pavilion).
  • Jaba Tengah (Middle Courtyard): This is where you will find the pelinggih (shrines) to worship the gods and goddesses, such as Ida Bhatara Dalem, Ratu Gede, and Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa.
  • Jeroan (Inner Courtyard): This is the holiest area in the pura, where the main pelinggih of Pura Dalem Puri Peliatan is located.

The uniqueness of this pura lies in its detailed and beautiful wood carvings, as well as various statues and sculptures that have symbolic meanings. In addition, there is also a bale pepaosan (performance pavilion) that is often used to stage traditional Balinese dances.
